FD: Backhoe hits gas line in Chandler

CHANDLER, AZ (CBS5) -

Fire units from four area communities are on the scene of a gas leak in Chandler.

A backhoe digging an 8-foot deep hole at a construction breached the line shortly after 12 p.m., Chandler Fire Department Battalion Chief Tom Dwiggins said.

Fire units from Chandler, Sun Lakes, Tempe and Phoenix responded to the scene in the area of Nebraska Street and Ocotillo Road.

Dwiggins said no one has been ordered to evacuate at this time.
