PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A woman woke up in her northwest Portland home Sunday to find a
suspected burglar sleeping on her kitchen floor, according to
authorities.
Washington County deputies arrested 20-year-old Cristian Villarreal-Castillo early Saturday morning.
Shannon
Patton said Villarreal-Castillo was sleeping in the fetal position and
wearing pantyhose with his pants crumpled next to him at her home on
Northwest Shadow Lane in Rock Creek.
It appeared the suspect had taken his pants off in order to defecate on her kitchen floor twice, according to police.
Deputies believe that happened after the man went through Patton's apartment looking for things to steal.
There is no official word on why Villarreal-Castillo allegedly passed out, but Patton believes he was drunk.
She said deputies instructed her to wait on her front porch while they approached the man from her back door.
"The first (deputy) to the scene is yelling at the other guys, ‘Glove up! Glove up!" Patton said.
"I
heard him yell, ‘Washington County Sheriffs, let me see your hands,'"
Patton said, "but he had to yell it like four times before the guy
finally woke up."
Patton said it took Villarreal-Castillo a few
minutes to realize where he was. He had numerous small items in his
possession that appeared to have been stolen, according to Sgt. Bob Ray.
Deputies believe the items were stolen from unlocked cars that evening.
Villarreal-Castillo is facing burglary, theft, trespassing and criminal mischief charges.
