2 killed when car hits pole on I-17 exit ramp

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Two people were killed when the car they were in struck a light pole on an Interstate 17 exit ramp Sunday night.

The car struck the pole at the northbound Happy Valley exit ramp just before 9:30 p.m., according to a Department of Public Safety officer. The driver and passenger were dead at the scene.

The northbound exit ramp and frontage road were closed for the investigation, but later reopened.

No other information was immediately available.
