PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Three people were injured, one critically, after the 16-year-old driver of a stolen vehicle ran a red light and collided with another car, Phoenix police said.

A 21-year-old man who was a passenger in the suspected stolen vehicle is in extremely critical condition from injuries suffered in Saturday morning's accident at 91st Avenue and Lower Buckeye. The man was ejected from the vehicle that police said ran the red light and then rolled over twice.

Police said at about 7 a.m., the teen was traveling north on 91st Avenue at a high rate of speed when it is believed to have run a red light at Lower Buckeye Road and collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by a 20-year-old woman.

The teen and the woman also suffered injuries but are expected to be OK.

Phoenix police Sgt. Tommy Thompson said it appears the teen driver was impaired by alcohol. He said charges are pending.
