Researchers unlock chocolate addiction

Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX (CBS5/CBS) -

Researchers have discovered why some people can't stop when it comes to eating chocolate.

It may be related to a chemical in your brain.

Researchers at the University of Michigan gave rats a drug that boosted activity in a part of the brain linked to addiction.

The animals ate twice as much chocolate as they normally would have.
Doctors believe chemicals produced in this part of the brain may lead to overeating.
