GILBERT, AZ (CBS5) -

Several schools in a Gilbert neighborhood were locked down Friday morning while police searched for two people suspected of breaking into a home and pulling a gun on its occupants before fleeing.

Gilbert police said two men about 18 years old forced their way through the back door of a home in the 900 block of Wanda Drive in Gilbert about 9 a.m. and encountered an 18-year-old man and 17-year-old girl in the home. One suspect pointed a handgun at the two but fled and the homeowner called 911.

Gilbert officers said the men jumped in a car driven by a woman and fled from the car when it was stopped by officers.

The driver was detained and one of the suspects was caught nearby. The other, described as a Hispanic man, 20 to 23 years old, with short black hair and wearing shorts or blue jeans and a dark shirt, was still being sought.

Nearby schools were placed in lockdown for a short period of time and two officers remained at Finley Farms Elementary School for security until the final suspect was located.
