GLENDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

Glendale police are looking for tips that will help lead to the arrest of an armed suspect who held up a bank on Monday.

Officers said the suspect used a motorcycle helmet to hide his face and believe the uniqueness of the helmet might help lead to his identity.

The suspect entered the MidFirst Bank at 6508 W. Bell Rd. about 10:20 a.m. Monday and threatened to kill the teller until he was given money in the cash drawers, according to Glendale police spokesman Sgt. Brent Coombs.

The suspect provided the teller with a black bag to place the cash in. While waiting for the teller to fulfill his demands, he pointed the gun at several other bank employees in a threatening manner, Coombs said. After getting the money, the suspect ran outside and fled on a sport-style motorcycle.

The suspect is described as between 6' to 6'2" tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black motorcycle jacket, a full-face blue, black and silver motorcycle helmet, black jeans, black shoes and black gloves.

The helmet he was wearing is likely to be an AFX-FX-96 Blue-Multi Helmet, police said. The color scheme on the suspect's motorcycle may be similar to the helmet he was wearing.

People with any information about the suspect or crime are asked to call Glendale police at 623-930-3000 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
