Deputies were serving the warrant at 51st and Grovers avenues about 6:30 a.m. when there were reports of the shots. No deputies were injured.

A man was clinging to life after he was shot by Maricopa County sheriff's deputies at a west Phoenix home Thursday morning.
The man, in his mid- to late 50s, was shot as deputies forced their way into the home while serving a search warrant about 6:30 a.m., according to a Phoenix Fire Department spokesman. He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, the spokesman said.
Sgt. Brandon Jones of the MCSO said no deputies were injured.
The Glendale Police Department and Phoenix Fire Department assisted in the joint operation.
No other information was immediately available.
