SURPRISE, AZ (CBS5) -
A 6-year-old Surprise girl was injured Monday after she maneuvered her scooter into traffic and was hit by a car, police said.
The girl, whose name was not released, suffered facial trauma and bruising to her upper body, according to Surprise Fire Department Division Chief Autry Cheatham.
The accident happened in the area of 17100 W. Paradise Ln. at about 2 p.m.
The child was airlifted to Phoenix Children's Hospital, where her condition is not known.
No other information was immediately available.
