FORT MOHAVE, AZ (CBS5) -

Deputies in Mohave County have arrested a 20-year-old Fort Mohave man for allegedly leading police on a chase and carrying a bomb.

MCSO said they tried to stop a Nissan pickup truck early Saturday morning near Highway 95 and Camino Colorado.

Deputies said the vehicle sped away and was found soon after at a home in the 5000 block of Pasadena Road. Deputies saw the driver, later identified as Raymond Leo Zimmerman, run off while two women who were in the truck stayed near the vehicle.

The K-9 unit was brought in and located Zimmerman hiding in a shed on the property.

Investigators found a bomb in the vehicle and the nearby residence was evacuated.

MCSO said bomb technicians detonated the device.

Zimmerman was taken into custody for unlawful flight from law enforcement, resisting arrest, aggravated assault on a police officer and possession of a weapon by a prohibited person.
