YUMA, AZ (CBS5) -
Two Yuma residents were arrested and booked into jail after three pounds of methamphetamine were found in their car after they were stopped for speeding Tuesday night.
Jose Pablo Vargas, 26, was driving through a construction zone with passenger Ana Sanchez Moreno, 25, when a Yuma County sheriff's sergeant stopped them for speeding on Avenue 3E near Gila Ridge Road.
A K9 unit was called in and a subsequent search of the car turned up the methamphetamine worth about $30,000, according to a YCSO spokesman.
Vargas and Moreno were booked into the Yuma County Detention Center on suspicion of possession of a dangerous drug for sale, possession of a dangerous drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.
