Thunderstorms produced damaging winds, blowing dust and heavy rainfall in the Yuma area and thousands were left without power.
Arizona Public Service spokesman Steven Gotfried says that as of Sunday evening 19,000 customers in Yuma and some surrounding communities were without power.
The Yuma Sun reports (http://bit.ly/TAAIGV ) that Sunday's storms produced winds gusts of up to 66 mph at Yuma International Airport.
The National Weather Service says radar shows storms hit the Yuma area at about 5:30 p.m. and remained in the area for about two hours before moving into southeast California.
Storms also hits parts of the Phoenix area Sunday night and more bad weather was possible Monday.
