An undercover operation has resulted in the arrests of four woman on prostitution charges and a business owner for allegedly running the prostitution ring.
Police said Lan Wang, 48, of Scottsdale, Estephany Quijano Kubinski, 30, of Glendale, and Diana Huerta, 24, were employees at China Day Foot Spa and Massage at 6245 E. Bell Rd. Police said Robert Sterrett, 49, owned that spa as well as AZ Massage at 13610 N. Scottsdale Rd. and Greenway Massage at 3342 E. Greenway Rd. Police said all the massage parlors were serving as fronts for prostitution.
An undercover officer said he offered Wang $80 for a sex act on March 27, and she agreed. She was subsequently arrested. Officers staking out the spa on July 24, stopped a customer of the spa, and he told detectives he offered Wang $40 for a sex act and identified her through a photograph, according to police.
Kubinski and Huerta were arrested on Aug. 30 after officers stopped customers and learned they had paid for sex, and undercover officers later acted as customers and offered money for sex. Martha Camarena, 47, was also arrested for her alleged involvement.
Sterrett was charged with illegal control of an enterprise, conspiracy, forgery, obstructing a criminal investigation and false reporting.
Camarena, Huerta, Kubinski and Wang were charged with participating in an illegal enterprise, residing in a house of prostitution, conspiracy and prostitution.
