A fundraiser car wash and a candlelight memorial for a man who drowned in the Salt River have been postponed because of the rainy Arizona weather.
The body of Joshua Williams, 22, was found Wednesday on the banks of the river. Williams had recently moved to the Valley from Chicago.
The car wash was scheduled for Saturday in Chandler and the candlelight memorial Sunday at Chandler's Apache Park, but both events had to be postponed because of Friday's inclement weather, said Denice Towns, a cousin of Williams.
Towns did not say when the events would be rescheduled.
A memorial fund for Williams has been established with Wells Fargo Bank, Towns said. Donors can make a deposit at any Wells Fargo branch into account No. 8405942866. Deposits can also be mailed with the account number on the check to:

Maricopa County Sheriff's Deputy Chris Hegstrom said Williams was on an inner tube which was tied to a group of 12 to 15 friends also on tubes. Williams somehow got separated from the group and was last seen between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday.
