PHOENIX (CBS5) -

An alleged drunk driver was jailed after rear-ending a Phoenix Police Department patrol vehicle overnight and forcing it into another car.

Evelyn Rivas, 24, was booked on suspicion of aggravated DUI and three counts of endangerment after her car struck the patrol car while the officer was processing another driver Thursday night, according to police.

The six-year police veteran was sitting in his Chevrolet Tahoe near 2200 E. Van Buren St. writing a ticket when Rivas' vehicle hit it from behind around 10:40 p.m., police said.

The impact forced the police SUV into the back of the car in front of his.

The officer, a 28-year-old man and a passenger in the other car were treated for minor injuries.

Rivas was taken to a hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries and released into police custody.
