PD: Taser, baton unable to stop suspect in attack on Mesa cop

MESA, AZ (CBS5) -

A man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly attacking a Mesa police officer.

Police said Matangi Tai pushed an officer after he was confronted and accused of stealing beer.

Police said they were forced to use a Taser to bring him down, but even that didn't stop him.

Police said Tai pulled the wires of the Taser off him and kept coming at the officer.

Police said even the officer's baton couldn't stop him.

He was eventually cuffed and taken into custody.
