WET AND WILD WATER PARK

It's the holiday weekend and a great place to cool off is at Wet-n-Wild Water Park in Phoenix. They are having a Labor Day celebration with fireworks and an all-you-can-eat barbecue. The grilling starts at 7 p.m. and will feature hot dogs, grilled chicken, salad, corn and beans. They will also be saluting our military by offering them a discounted admission. The event is on Saturday, doors open up at 10 a.m. and the fireworks will start at 9:30 that night. Wet and Wild is located just off of Pinnacle Peak Road.

PHOENIX COOKS 2011

Another great spot to find good food is at an event called Phoenix Cooks. It is a very popular culinary festival that features dozens of local restaurants along with wineries and brewers here in the valley. Trick Bartenders will be on hand and show some cocktail making skills and Chefs will be showing off their cooking skills. The event will take place at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa from 10am to 3pm onSaturday. Tickets are $75 – but there is a LOT of food included.

LABORDAY GRAND CANYON RODEO

Get out your cowboy hat and head to southeastern Arizona where the Best LittleRodeo in Arizona is taking place. It will be a busy weekend out at the Sonoita Fairgrounds where they have more than 700 entries, and over $40,000 in cash prizes. The Sonoita Fairgrounds is 40 miles southeast of Tucson and probably about a 2.5 hour drive from Phoenix. Admission is $10 for adults. Rodeo will happen Saturday thru Monday.
