A woman was killed and a man seriously injured when they were struck by a vehicle while they tried to run across a road in Mesa.
The pair was hit about 8:20 p.m. Thursday while running across Eighth Avenue near Extension Road, according to Sgt. Tony Landato with the Mesa Police Department.
The driver of the vehicle was not hurt and neither speed nor impairment appeared to be factors, according to Landato.
No other information was immediately available.
