Multi-vehicle collision injures 5 in Mesa

MESA, AZ (CBS5) -

At least five vehicles were involved in a massive collision that seriously injured two people in Mesa just before noon Wednesday.

A Mesa Fire Department spokesman said three other people suffered minor injuries in the crash on McKellips Road east of Lindsey Road. McKellips was closed in both directions from Lindsey to Val Vista Drive.

One person had to be extricated from one of the vehicles. Three of the vehicles had heavy damage, the spokesman said.

No other information was immediately available.
