PHOENIX (AP/CBS5) -

An autopsy shows the daughter of a murdered former Nevada state lawmaker died by suicide in Arizona.

Phil Alfano said his 32-year-old niece, Dallas Augustine, was one of two women found dead in a Phoenix home in the 16,000 block of North 11th Place. The other woman was 50-year-old Jessie McCaskill. The medical examiner's office said she died by "homicide" from a gunshot wound to the head.

The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office said Augustine died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Augustine's mother, Nevada Controller Kathy Augustine, died in her Reno home in 2006. Her husband, Chaz Higgs, was later convicted of murdering her by injecting her with a paralytic drug.
