Phoenix police say a man and a juvenile are suspected in a series of armed robberies Monday night.
PHOENIX (CBS5) -
A string of armed robberies came to a tragic end Monday night when one of two suspects took his own life as police closed in.
The man and a juvenile were involved in at least two armed robberies in Glendale and two in Phoenix, according to Sgt. Trent Crump of the Phoenix Police Department.
Police spotted the suspects' car and a short chase ensued, ending when the vehicle hit a curb in front of a Holiday Inn near 43rd Avenue and McDowell Road just before midnight, Crump said.
The juvenile was taken into custody but the driver remained in the vehicle and killed himself, police said without elaborating.
Neither of the suspects was identified.
No other information was immediately available.
