TUCSON, AZ (CBS5) -

An undocumented immigrant wanted for homicide in Mexico was arrested by Border Patrol agents in the Tucson sector on Friday.

Ajo Station agents apprehended four people who they said entered the U.S. illegally. During processing, record checks revealed one of the men, Remigio Lopez-Alvarez, 32, had an active homicide warrant from Chiapas, Mexico, Customs Border Protection officers said.

With help and information sharing between the Border Patrol and the Mexican government, the warrant was entered into the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System. IAFIS gives agents the ability to quickly identify dangerous criminals and ensures that wanted persons are turned over to the appropriate agencies.

Lopez-Alvarez was turned over to Mexican authorities following immigration proceedings.
