A motorcycle lies in a north Phoenix canal after fatal crash Tuesday morning.

A man was killed after losing control of his motorcycle in a fiery north Phoenix crash Tuesday morning.
The motorcyclist was heading south on Central Avenue just north of Northern Avenue about 10 a.m. when he veered to the right, left the roadway and struck a tree, according to Officer James Holmes of the Phoenix Police Department.
Holmes said the motorcycle caught fire and landed in a canal. The driver was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died.
Holmes said the incident was still under investigation.
