PHOENIX (CBS5) -

As of Friday night, traffic on I-17 was still backed up eight miles because of a semitrailer fire.

The trailer loaded with produce became engulfed in flames Friday afternoon.

DPS said the commercial tractor trailer was heading northbound at Cordes Junction when it caught on fire.

All roads were closed as crews extinguished the fire. One lane reopened about 5:30 p.m. and all lanes reopened at 6:30 p.m. But ADOT said traffic is still moving slow because of the "rubbernecking" factor. ADOT crews are on scene working traffic control.

ADOT said cleanup crews will be on the scene overnight to finish their work.

The CBS 5 News helicopter captured some vehicles off-roading to avoid the traffic backup. Some of those vehicles ended up stuck.

DPS said there were no injuries from the fire.
