Fugitive Cody D. Lang
SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5) -
Scottsdale police have nabbed an "extremely dangerous" Texas fugitive who was staying at a Scottsdale motel and eluded officers after crashing an RV in which he tried to escape.
Officer David Pubins said police received a tip Cody D. Lang was in Scottsdale, and when they tried to contact him Thursday night, he fled in a white RV and collided with a sedan at the intersection of McDowell and Granite Reef roads about 9 p.m. The driver of the sedan suffered minor injuries and was taken to Scottsdale Healthcare-Osborn for treatment, Pubins said.
Lang was wanted for evading arrest and theft. He was considered dangerous because he told Texas law enforcement officer he would not be caught alive, according to a U.S. Marshal in Houston.
Lang escaped on foot before police arrived, Pubins said.
Officer Mark Clark said he was arrested by Scottsdale detectives near Granite Reef and Chaparral Road at about 10:45 a.m. Clark said he was a passenger in a vehicle and did not resist arrest.
Pubins said Lang had multiple felony warrants out of Montgomery County, TX.
