AVONDALE, AZ (CBS5) -
It's a day they'll remember for the rest of their lives.
About 220 people became U.S. Citizens at a naturalization ceremony in Avondale.
For some, the ceremony was very emotional.
Isaac Barroso was born in the United States. On Thursday his father became a U.S. citizen.
"It's great. It's really great knowing that he gets to stay in this country. He doesn't have to leave next year. He gets to stay until the day he dies," said Barroso.
Last year nearly 13,000 people became U.S. citizens in Arizona.
