LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A Las Vegas bus tour that included a stop at the Grand Canyon became nightmarish when the vehicle broke down, stranding passengers for about 11 hours.
The journey that began in and was slated to return to Las Vegas was supposed to have taken four-and-a-half hours beginning some time Wednesday morning, passenger Robert Jeffery said.
Instead, the bus broke down in Arizona, Jeffery said.
He noted passengers were forced to seek shelter in a hotel lobby at an Arizona town.
Jeffery said it wasn't until 1:30 a.m. Thursday that a back-up bus picked up the stranded passengers and resumed the journey.
He estimated a total of about 23 hours went by during this whole ordeal.
The bus company has not yet released a response to the situation, but Jeffery said he expects many of his fellow passengers to demand a refund and compensation.
