PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A hit-and-run collision in Queen Creek left a pedestrian in critical condition with a partially severed arm and law enforcement officials still searching for the suspect.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said 38-year-old Byron Kleier was walking south on Rittenhouse Road when he was struck by a midsize sedan around around 1:20 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection with Cloud Road.

Witnesses said a dark-colored, four-door sedan was seen leaving the scene.

Deputies said they were still looking for the suspect vehicle, which they said would likely have damage to the windshield, hood, and front bumper, and possibly to the mirrors and roof.

Kleier was being treated at Scottsdale Healthcare-Osborn Hospital for various injuries.

Anyone with information about the accident or the suspect is asked to call the MCSO Crime Stop line at 602-876-1011.
