Jesus Raymundo
MARICOPA COUNTY, AZ (CBS5) -
Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a man in connection with a shooting death of a man whose body was found dumped in the desert.
MCSO said Jesus Adame Raymundo, 41, was taken into custody Monday in the death of Francisco Mendez-Rangel, whose body was found near I-17 and Table Mesa Road last month.
Detectives said they found evidence from the murder at Raymundo's home but did not elaborate.
Detectives believe Raymundo and an accomplice shot Rangel and later used a pickup truck to move the body to a remote location in the county.
Raymundo was booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail on one count of second-degree murder, one count of tampering with evidence and one count of disposing of a dead body.
Authorities are still looking for the accomplice, identified as Esteban Cota Bacapiz, and the red F-150 pickup truck believed to have been used in the murder. The truck has an AZ license plate AWJ5157.
