PHOENIX (CBS5) -
A former Mesa school bus driver accused of groping a 9-year-old girl and luring her into his car in November 2010 has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Under terms of the plea agreement, Billy Bryant also received lifetime probation with sex offender terms.
Police said the girl's father witnessed the attack and pulled his daughter from the suspect's vehicle.
The father also was able to provide officers with the car's license plate number and police say that led to Bryant's arrest.
During the investigation, police said they learned that Bryant was also a suspect in another child molestation case from 2009. That case was investigated, but was eventually inactivated because the suspect denied the allegations and there were no witnesses or evidence.
At that time, he was a bus driver for Legacy Charter School. After that investigation, he was terminated.
