Crews contain wildfire at Arizona-Utah border

Posted: Updated:
FREDONIA, AZ (CBS5/AP) -

Fire officials say they've contained a lightning-caused wildfire in far northwestern Arizona near the Utah border that has charred more than 1,000 acres.

Bureau of Land Management officials said the so-called Le Fevre Fire was burning on the Arizona Strip District management area about eight miles southeast of Fredonia but was under control as of Tuesday afternoon.

The wildfire broke out Thursday and was 50 percent contained Friday at 1,058 acres after heavy air tankers and helicopters attacked the flames.

BLM officials said Tuesday that there are no road closures or evacuations and no structures are threatened at this time.
