PHOENIX (AP) -
PHOENIX (AP) -- The Phoenix Mercury have signed former Arizona State star guard Dymond Simon to a seven-day contract.
Simon fills one of two roster exemptions granted by the WNBA because of long-term injuries to the Mercury's Candice Dupree and Charde Houston.
Simon, a rookie, was on the Phoenix roster in training camp but was waived prior to the start of the season.
Her short contract takes effect after the WNBA's Olympic break ends on Aug. 16 when Phoenix plays at Seattle.
