PHOENIX (AP/CBS5) -

After 17 weeks of falling prices, Arizona motorists are paying more at the pump this week.

Officials with Triple-A Arizona said Thursday that the average statewide price for unleaded regular gasoline is $3.21 a gallon. That's up by nearly 4 cents from last week.

This week's national average is $3.66 per gallon, an increase of almost 13 cents from last week.

Tucson has the lowest average gasoline price in Arizona at $3.17 a gallon while Flagstaff has the highest at $3.54.

South Carolina has the lowest average gas prices in the continental U.S. at $3.23 a gallon with Connecticut having the highest at $3.82 a gallon.

A fire at the Chevron refinery in California on Monday spurred movement in prices at the pump along the west coast, Triple-A said. The partial shutdown of the refinery has driven wholesale prices in San Francisco and Los Angeles up more than 30 cents a gallon. That increase has yet to fully impact pump prices but is expected to continue driving prices up through mid-August, according to Triple-A.
