The state Department of Public Safety has closed eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Buckeye after a tanker truck rolled and caught fire.
DPS officials said the tanker was carrying liquid asphalt when it rolled just before 6 a.m. Thursday.
The driver escaped with only minor injuries, and fire crews were able to keep the flames from spreading to the tanks filled with the liquid asphalt.
Eastbound motorists were being directed off the interstate at mile post 103.
All westbound lanes were reopened about 6:30 a.m., and crews were working to open at least one eastbound lane.
There was no estimate on how long the roadway would be closed.
