MARICOPA, AZ (CBS5) -

Two men were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of stealing bags of dog food and a cash register from a Maricopa business, police said.

Sergio Carlos Cochran, 18, and Aldo Espinoza-Delgado, 21, surrendered peacefully after police and Pinal County sheriff's deputies set up a perimeter around the building in the 19000 block of N. John Wayne Parkway.

An employee of the business, who lives next door, told police he was awakened by barking dogs. He got up and saw the store's front door open and lights on.

When officers arrived, they said they saw the pair carrying the loot out of the store. When the men saw the police, they ran back into the store and stayed there for an hour before giving themselves up.

Cochran and Espinoza-Delgado were booked into jail on charges of commercial burglary a felony and criminal trespass. Espinoza-Delgado had three arrest warrants for failure to appear out of the Maricopa City Court - one for assault and two for underage consumption.
