Driver apprehended after chase on Loop 101

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Arizona Department of Public Safety officers took the driver of a car they said struck a freeway wall in the East Valley into custody Tuesday morning.

Officers said they tried to stop the sedan several times but the driver tried to flee.

The car was eventually trapped by DPS vehicles about 6:45 a.m. near Thunderbird Road and the Loop 101 freeway.

No other information was immediately available.
