FLORENCE, AZ (AP) -
A Pinal County agency says a pesticide will be sprayed in the city of Maricopa this week to control mosquitoes and prevent the spread of West Nile Virus to humans.
The county's Environmental Health Services said the mosquito fogging will begin Wednesday in Maricopa and will happen between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. There have been no human cases of the disease in Pinal County so far this year.
Residents are advised to stay inside during the fogging and to close windows and doors, and brings pets inside if possible. People may resume their normal activities 30 minutes after the spraying.
Common symptoms of West Nile Virus include fever, nausea, headache and muscle aches.
