Police are looking for a 30-year-old man in connection with a shooting in Surprise on Sunday morning.
Officers released a photo of Darren Crockett, who goes by the street name "Gato."
The victim, described as a 26-year-old Hispanic, was shot twice, once in the head and once in the leg, officers said.
Police said the shooting occurred at about 10:30 a.m. in the 12700 block of west Cottonwood.
Surprise police Lt. John Bacon said officers searched several nearby homes looking for the gunman.
Witnesses have not given authorities a clear suspect description, according to Bacon.
"We always want to let our citizens know that anytime something like this happens that we want to make sure they know that this is an isolated incident and it's a very safe city to live in," said Bacon.
The victim was airlifted to the hospital and was listed in critical condition Sunday afternoon.
