A Scottsdale company has stepped in to help gather thousands of non-perishable food items for Saint Mary's Food Bank.
Employees at Scottsdale Insurance have completed a monthlong rally against hunger food drive as part of the company's 30th anniversary celebration.
Employees filled the lobby of Scottsdale Insurance's home office.
"We decided to make it a race, so 30 miles, that's what we wanted to do. We designated 40 food items for one mile, so we wanted to accomplish 30 miles for our campaign and low and behold we surpassed it with 40 miles," explained Scottsdale Insurance President Mike Miller.
The company also donated $55,000 in cash to Saint Mary's allowing the food bank to distribute enough food for nearly 400,000.
