DPS serves warrants in fraud case

Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX (CBS5) -

The Arizona Department of Public Safety was serving search warrants at three Valley locations Thursday morning in connection with a fraud case involving a street gang.

DPS Officer Carrick Cook said the warrants were served at a Shadow Mountain apartment at 3033 E. Thunderbird Rd. in Phoenix, a mobile home in New River and a home in Surprise.

A DPS spokesman said it was alleged a gang leader ordered other members to strip and burn their car, and that one of the involved might have been killed after he told that information to another person.

No other information was immediately available.
