PHOENIX (CBS5) -

People across the country are using their wallets Wednesday to express their support for Chick-fil-A's CEO.

In a recent interview, Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy said he's a firm backer of traditional marriage.

Cathy told the Baptist Press last month that the Atlanta-based company was "guilty as charged" for backing "the biblical definition of a family." Gay rights groups and others answered with calls for boycotts.

On Wednesday, long lines were found at the chain's Valley locations. Hundreds of people were at 83rd Avenue and Bell with the line extending outside and around the building.

The same was for the Chick-fil-A near the Loop 202 and Dobson Road and at the restaurant near Baseline and Stapley.
