Scottsdale police are looking for a hit-and-run motorist who sideswiped a motor scooter, leaving the rider seriously hurt.
Both vehicles were heading in the same direction on Scottsdale Road near McDowell at about 10 p.m. Sunday, police said.
The driver of the Nissan fled the scene in an unknown direction, officers said. The driver of the scooter was not wearing a helmet and was rushed to a local hospital with severe head trauma. The victim is expected to be OK.
The intersection was closed for four hours during the investigation.
