An alleged pimp and an escort were arrested on suspicion of running a prostitution ring out of a Valley hotel, Phoenix police said.
Joel Davis-Covington, 30, was booked into jail on five counts of child prostitution. Erica Clark, 21, faces one count of induce prostitution.
Police said the couple were aware they were employing a 16-year-old girl and aware of her prostitution activities.
Officers said an investigation on Sunday led them to the Quality Inn at 5050 N Black Canyon Freeway. Officers obtained a search warrant for two rooms. According to court paperwork, one of the rooms was for "tricks" and the other was used to sleeping or hanging out when the other room was occupied.
Police said they were able to trace ads posted on the internet to a tablet computer used by Clark to post the ads.
Police said the 16-year-old girl was used as a prostitute for nine days in Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe.
