PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A Phoenix dad has been arrested for punching his son in the head, police said.

According to the police report, officers were called to the 4200 block of West Camino Acequia on Friday night to a report of a domestic violence. When the officer arrived, one of the man's two sons came to the door and said his dad was yelling at his older brother in the bathroom.

When the officer went to the bathroom, he could hear the suspect, Kevin Scott Campbell, yelling at the older son, saying, "I am gonna kick your (expletive)," according to the police report.

Phoenix police said Campbell hit his son in the right side of his head with a closed fist. The victim had swelling, the police report said.

The victim said his dad was mad about a fight he and his brother had gotten into earlier.

Both boys told police it's an ongoing issue and Child Protective Services has been contacted recently.

Campbell was arrested on one count of child abuse.

CPS responded and took the boys into their custody.
