PHOENIX (CBS5) -
Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale's Vestar Branch will get to test their knowledge about eating and shopping healthy while participating in a mock version of the game show Supermarket Sweep. Approximately 30 children will be split up into teams to compete in three rounds that will include question and answer, name that tune and picture identification.
The game the children will be participating in will conclude with a supermarket sweep where the kids race down the aisles collecting the correct food to win the game. The event is taking place at the Albertson's Grocery Store at 21001 North Tatum Blvd. in Phoenix.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale's youth programs are designed to expand interest and knowledge in five different core areas. One of those core areas that are focused on is health and life skills that encourage positive lifestyle choices that nurture well-being. When the kids participate in real life situations, such as grocery shopping, they are starting to learn skills that will help them become successful, healthy, self-sufficient adults.
