GLENDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

Two people are in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and a man is in custody after a hit-and-run Friday afternoon at the intersection of 59th Avenue and Rose Lane.

A pickup truck was traveling north on 59th Avenue toward the intersection and made a left turn, hitting a woman and a teenage girl in the street, police said. There is no crosswalk at the intersection.

Both pedestrians were taken to the hospital and are expected to be OK, police said, but the woman is in worse condition than the teenager.

The victims were pushing a baby in a stroller, but they pushed it toward the curb. The baby is OK as well, authorities said.

The driver was later arrested. Police said he appeared impaired.

Police continue to investigate. No formal charges have been made at this time.
