PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Phoenix police are investigating a possible road rage shooting that left one driver wounded Thursday night.

Two men in a pickup truck said they were being followed by a man on a motorcycle on Beardsley Road, Officer James Holmes said.

The truck driver stopped his truck and began arguing with the motorcyclist over his high beam headlight, according to police.

The pickup pulled into a cul-de-sac in the area of 29th Street and Escuda, Holmes said.

The men said the motorcyclist made a U-turn and parked behind them. Police said the truck driver then began to yell at the motorcyclist who pulled out a handgun and shot the truck driver. The passenger of the truck tried to get out, but the armed man told him to stay inside, police said.

The truck driver was rushed to an area hospital in extremely critical condition and the motorcyclist has not been seen since.

The passengers in the truck was not hurt.

Police are asking anyone with information about the motorcycle driver to contact the police department at 602-262-6151 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
