MESA, AZ (CBS5) -
Police said a man was shot and killed at a Mesa apartment on April Circle on Thursday morning.
The body was found around 11 p.m. after residents in the cul de sac called police to report they heard gunshots.
Police said residents living near the apartment just east of Mesa Drive and Brown Road did not witness the shooting, but were able to clearly hear the shots. They pointed police to the apartment where the body was found, according to Steve Berry of the Mesa Police Department.
Berry said officers were getting a search warrant to canvass the apartment. Police confirmed they were investigating the death as a homicide.
No other information was immediately available.
