FLAGSTAFF, AZ (CBS5) -
A 24-year-old man has been arrested after leading police on a chase and causing a crash, according to authorities.
Flagstaff Police Sgt. James Jackson said an officer tried to stop the driver for an illegal left turn in the downtown area. The suspect, later identified as Aaron Frenchman, then ran a red light at San Francisco and Route 66 while the officer attempted to stop him. Jackson said the man caused a crash and while fleeing the collision, he hit at least one additional vehicle. The officer stopped to check on the victims. No one was hurt.
Meanwhile, additional officers located Frenchman who tried to again flee officers. This time in the Foxglenn Neighborhood. Officers deployed devices to flatten his tires but he continued on Highway 89.
The vehicle was found on Silver Saddle at Stardust unoccupied.
Frenchman was arrested a short time later after a relative called police.
Frenchman admitted to the incident and was charged with aggravated driving under the influence, endangerment, felony flight and three counts of hit and run.
