PHOENIX (CBS5) -
Phoenix police said two teenage boys and a man were shot during a home invasion in a south Phoenix neighborhood Tuesday night.
The boys, ages 15 and 18, tried to slam the door on the two intruders before they were wounded, according to Sgt. Trent Crump of the Phoenix Police Department. Both teens were expected to survive.
Crump said two guns were recovered at the house.
One of the suspects, a man in his 40s, was in serious condition at a Phoenix hospital with a gunshot wound to his chest, according to police. Crump speculated the man was shot by the second suspect being sought by police.
The second suspect was described as black, 5'10" to 6' tall, thin and wearing a red and black sweatshirt, jeans and ball cap at the time of the home invasion.
Police said the boys were in the house at 424 E. Pecan Rd., near Seventh and Southern avenues, when the two men tried to break in about 9 p.m.
The spokesman said police believed there might be a drug connection with the home invasion and detectives had obtained a search warrant for the property.
No other information was immediately available.
